SCBA Statement on anti-Asian Racism and Hate Crime:

Recently there has been a notable increase in hatred and violence toward Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI), influenced by the irresponsible political rhetoric and xenophobia surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic. There were close to 4000 anti-Asian incidents in the U.S. in the past year alone and many more went unreported. The recent hate crime involving the shooting victims in Atlanta, Georgia is a watershed moment. The SCBA stands in solidarity with the AAPI community and we applaud the efforts taken by numerous institutions and organizations to put a stop to Asian hate. We strive to promote diversity, equity and inclusion and we condemn all actions of racism, bigotry, and violence toward Asian Americans or any other ethnic groups.
